What we do
" ... no more nuclear power stations to be built at Bradwell or anywhere else .."
| 1 | We campaign for a sustainable energy policy, both locally and nationally, that minimises harm to the environment. Our stance is always evidence-based. |
| 2 | We therefore say no to any further nuclear power stations, neither at Bradwell nor anywhere else. |
| 3 | We believe the people of Essex have the right to be involved in decisions on how to dismantle the closed reactor at Bradwell. To this end we have been involved in extensive dialogue with decision-makers and other interested parties. Our aim is to set up a legacy of trust and cooperation between the public and those who are decommissioning Bradwell, now and in the future. |
| 4 | We are gravely concerned over the Government's decision to press ahead this coming year on asking communities to volunteer for the high level radioactive waste geological repository. Much research and development still needs to be done (as mentioned in the Committee for Radioactive Waste Management's recommendations). We see the Government rush to find a "solution" as the means of easing the way for building new nuclear power stations. |
Radiation risks
There are many controversial views over the effects of radiation. We recommend this video which simply explains the different sorts and possible effects. Go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFf414XZ2VA
Full membership is offered to all those living in Essex and in neighbouring counties. Full members are able to discuss and take part in decision-making in on-line meetings. However the rest of the site, and any actions proposed, is open to anyone to contribute. To become a Full Member, please Contact Us.
